The Leading Latina Scholarship

Leading Latina, Inc. has chosen to reinvest a portion of its money into the local community by establishing the Leading Latina Scholarship. Graduate and postgraduate students (18-25) in Lee and Collier County can apply for the scholarship during its application period.

The Scholarship Committee is in charge of recommending award amounts and establishing the criteria for winners. The Leading Latina Scholarship is awarded based on criteria that is consistent with the organization's mission.

Scholarship Criteria

Thank you for your interest in the Leading Latina 2025 Spring Scholarship Application! Make sure you have the following items ready to complete the applications below:

FAFSA Student Aid Report
Transcript - with your overall cumulative unweighted GPA highlighted
One letter of recommendation
Essay (500 words minimum) - see specific scholarship question prompts below

Application Deadline: Friday, March 7, 2025 at 5:00 p.m EST

Scholarship Winners will be notified by Monday, March 24th. Scholarship Award Recognition event to be held in April at Topgolf.

Leading Latina Scholarships

Spring 2025 Scholarship

This scholarship is open to graduate and postgraduate students (18-25) in Lee and Collier County. Students attending college or a technical/vocational programs who are selected will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Scholarship applicants must choose one of the essay prompts below for their application submission:

What would it mean to you to win this scholarship, and how would you take advantage of the opportunity?
Describe a personal accomplishment and the strengths/skills you used to achieve it.
Tell us about a time when you stepped up as a leader.

DACA & TPS Scholarship - Sponsored by Luque Law Firm

Young Parent Scholarship - Sponsored Against All Odds

This scholarship is available for first-time-in-college or technical school students eligible for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders. Students must demonstrate significant financial need and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Scholarship applicants must choose one of the essay prompts below for their application submission:

Option 1: Your Educational/Career Goals and Undocumented Status
Explain how your undocumented status has encouraged or strengthened you to pursue your educational and/or career goals

Option 2: Overcoming Adversity
Describe any challenges you have experienced being undocumented and how you will use your education/career to overcome these challenges.

Young Parent Scholarship - Sponsored Against All Odds

This scholarship is available for young parents (up to 19 years old). Students must demonstrate financial need and be currently enrolled in a school or higher educational program.
