About Us
Our Purpose
To create resources for academic advancement and provide scholarship opportunities for high school and post-graduate students throughout Southwest Florida.
Leading Latina is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides formal and cooperative educational resources to advance and promote personal/professional growth and leadership to all students throughout Southwest Florida - with a focus on providing additional opportunities for women in the Hispanic community.
Our History
Seeing a need for programs, academic resources, and scholarship opportunities through nonprofit work in Southwest Florida, Leading Latina, Inc was founded by a second-generation Cuban American woman. It was her mission to provide a solution for EVERY student in the community with a focus on Hispanic women.
As a Latina, she wanted to pave the way for the generations to come to be successful in every avenue they pursued. Her goal was to focus on the whole person by providing programs and resources both personally and professionally so they had every chance at success. That drive and fire are what fueled and kicked off her passion project, Leading Latina!
